Gym Rules

  • Changes in the facility schedule may occur without notice. Please check on the availability of facilities before paying. Due to classes or other facility activities, not all areas of the Community Center may be available at all times.
  • Photo I.D. is required for use of any gymnasium equipment.
  • During peak times, the gymnasium will be divided into quarters to accommodate more games. Also, players are required to rotate in and out of games, to ensure that everyone has a chance to play.  Players on the losing team cannot be picked up by the person that has the next game unless no other players are waiting.  Games may be timed and sign-up sheets will be utilized to ensure that all players have a chance to play.
  • Appropriate attire must be worn in accordance with the area of the facility being used.  Shirt and non-marking shoes are required at all times in the gym and public areas.
  • Times that are designated ‘Open Volleyball’ need a minimum of 4 players to set up the net.  Basketball players or other guests could be displaced if volleyball players show up to play.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO STREET SHOES IN THE GYMNASIUM.  YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR SHOES PRIOR TO ENTERING THE GYMNASIUM.
  • No food allowed in the gymnasium.  Beverages accepted as long as they are in a closed plastic container.
  • Gym equipment is to be used only in the gymnasium.
  • No dunking or hanging on rims or backboards (this may be cause for removal from the gym).
  • Please be courteous to other members/guests and use appropriate language.
  • All personal items must be placed in a locker. Flat Rock Community Center is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items.
